You may remember that last year we snuck off to Quest Toowoomba for my birthday in June, and I absolutely adored visiting the beautiful city with a proper Winter (see the blog HERE)! Well recently we headed away for the long weekend, this time in Spring! And it was just glorious!

The boys absolute adore visiting Toowoomba, there’s so much to see and do! We made sure to visit different places this time, however of course we had to go to Queen’s Park… the boys dream of that park! We started our morning off at Sweet Talk Cafe at the recommendation of Jenny from Quest Toowoomba, the beauty of staying at Quest is the Franchisees are locals so have the best recommendations!

The café was bustling, but the service was fast and friendly and the food and coffee amazing! They even had Quoits for people/kids to play with in the outdoor area while you wait (or while mum & dad enjoy their coffee!).

After the park, we headed through the Botanic Gardens to the Farmer’s Markets that were on. The boy’s even spotted a possum in the tree! The boy’s stocked up on some plants for their little gardens at the Farmer’s Markets and then we strolled back to Quest for a bit of a rest.

We then hopped into the car for a short drive to The Chocolate Cottage at Highfields, another recommendation from Quest Toowoomba! A gorgeous spot that from the road looks like not much at all, but once inside it’s an absolute gem! House made chocolates and food and drinks menu, outdoor seating with an incredible view and LOADS of room for the kids to run around and burn off all those treats!

And just down the road is Rosalie House (vineyard, Cellar door and restaurant). I really wanted to visit Rosalie House last time but we didn’t book in time. This time I definitely booked ahead! The views were just spectacular and it was such a pretty place to spend the afternoon and early evening, Bambino became best buddies with Shiraz the vineyard doggo!

The boys were tuckered out from their big day so chilled inside watching a movie in the comfy lounge room of Quest Toowoomba, and Pete and I enjoyed the amazing views and a cheeky sparkling and watched the sunset. Perfection!

The next morning we HAD to check our The Baker’s Duck. Last time we stayed at Quest Toowoomba, Jenny kindly left doughnuts from The Baker’s Duck for the boys and Bebe hasn’t stopped talking about them since! Unfortunately they didn’t have any when we went for breakfast though. But they did have the most amazing selection of croissants and pastries as well as excellent coffee.

After breakfast we walked back to Quest Toowoomba, packed up and (sadly) checked out. I should note the team now have a handy online check in process which makes everything a breeze. Then we headed to The Darling Downs Zoo!

The boys absolutely loved seeing the variety of animals at the Darling Downs Zoo, we buy season passes to Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary which has more native animals so seeing real lions, cheetahs and more was such an amazing experience!

It was such an amazing, fun filled weekend and we can’t wait to head back to Quest Toowoomba for more local recommendations from Jenny and explore the beautiful town further!
