In September we snuck away for a long weekend to celebrate Father’s Day and Pete’s birthday. We decided to go up to the Sunshine Coast for something different, and stayed at the beautiful Element on Coolum Beach.

When traveling with kids, I find it’s important to have self contained apartments close to amenities such as supermarket, activities and cafes. Kids are impatient, and walking instead of taking the car adds to the experience (and wears them out).

Element on Coolum Beach is walking distance to cafes, a park, the beach, supermarket, pub with kid’s room and more!

The pool is heated, which is fantastic because the first day was quite overcast with intermittent showers. Not that the boys cared if it was raining! They were super keen to hit the pool rain or shine!

The second day we had a lovely breakfast at the Coffee Club Coolum which is just under the Resort, then headed to the park across the road and beach.

The rooms themselves are incredibly spacious and modern, with generous balconies overlooking the pool – perfect for Mum & Dad to relax with a cheese platter!

Everything we could possibly want or need was right on our doorstep (and inside it too) and we can’t wait to go back to Element on Coolum again!
