Wide legged jeans can be dividing and they can be scary, especially for curvy shapes. I must admit until about 18 months ago I stuck to skinny jeans only to balance out my shape and highlight my slimmest area, my legs. Then I met and fell in love with Mom jeans… and now I bring you Wide Legged Jeans!
The cropped length and cinched waist allow me to wear the more voluminous jeans shape on my hourglass proportions, and make them more versatile. I grabbed these at Kmart for $25.00 but they’re yet to land online.
I’ve styled them a few ways to show you just how versatile these statement jeans can be!

Starting off safely, a white tee and sneaker combination is always a winner! Tucking the tee in helps to create shape and balance out the wide leg.

A more dressier take of white top, is making it a button up (linen in this instance) and adding backless mules and a fedora.

Double denim is always a favourite! The similar shades give a jumpsuit/boilersuit vibe to this ensemble but you could also go a lighter wash/chambray for a more contrasted look.

Statement sleeves are in this season and work perfectly to balance out a wide legged, the cropped sleeve and V neck allow me to wear this top without being overwhelmed.

How could I not incorporate stripes, for a retro feel! Plus the fedora and boots, I’m feeling retro cute! The neutral palette stops it from feeling too retro though and keeps it modern.

Once again the V neckline of this cardigan (crew neck when unbuttoned) balances out the wide leg for my shape and the cropped length sits perfectly with the high waist. Cute leopard flats elevate the look.
