I don’t know about you, but my boys LOVE Bliss Balls! They’re an easy way to get a whole lot of goodness into them (and me!) and a great ‘treat’ that’s actually SO good for them. This is NOT a nut-free recipe so although you can’t pack it in school lunchboxes, they’re great for afternoon snacks, weekend bento boxes, chopped up on yoghurt or muesli or even nice-cream!

I’ve swapped out the traditional cherry flavour from Black Forest for a berry flavour, still very similar! And achieved it with Nourishing Reds Prebiotic Powder from Pono Probiotics. A gluten free, dairy free and vegan prebiotic full of natural fibre, antioxidant rich superfoods that is DELICIOUS!

INGREDIENTS:

12 Medjool dates (soaked in water for one hour)

1 Cup Almond Meal

1/2 Cup Dessicated or Shredded Coconut (my boys prefer Dessicated)

1/3 Cup Coconut Oil

1/3 Cup Cacao Powder

2 Tablespoons Pono Probiotics Nourishing Reds

OPTIONAL 2 Tablespoons Pono Probiotics Coconut Plus Probiotics

EXTRA 1/2 Cup Dessicated or Shredded Coconut for rolling

METHOD:

1. Drain the water from the Medjool dates and pit.

2. Combine all ingredients into a food processor and blitz until fully mixed.

3. Add remaining coconut into a shallow bowl. Take 1 Tablespoon amounts of mixture and roll into a ball (I found that squeezing it slightly first makes it less crumbly and rolls better). Roll in coconut to coat.

4. Refridgerate or eat immediately!
