The other week I shared my quick and easy makeup routine on stories after being asked A LOT what I do on a daily basis. I’ve pulled together the links to what I use in each step in case you’re looking to create it too!
Primer: The Ordinary High-Adherence Silicone Primer via Adore Beauty $8.80
As I have an oily T-Zone if I need my makeup to last all day I start my routine with The Ordinary High-Adherence Silicone Primer. It is lightweight and doesn’t clog my skin. I don’t believe primer is necessary for every day use though so I skip this if it my makeup doesn’t have to last all day. (I use my fingers)
Foundation: The Ordinary Serum Foundation via Adore Beauty $12.70.
I use shades 2.1P & 2.0N of The Ordinary Serum Foundation and mix them according to what level of tan I am, usually half a pump of 2.1P and a little drop of 2.0N. I only use maximum one pump total which gives me a light coverage and colour that isn’t too heavy. (I use my fingers)
Pressed Powder: Revolution Matte Base Powder via Priceline $7.50
I first tried the Revolution Matte Base Powder when I had run out of pressed powder and grabbed it on sale while in Priceline, it’s cheap and cheerful and works really well! I use it to set my foundation on my oily T-Zone and increase longevity. There’s a huge range of shades available, I use P5. (I use a large soft powder brush similar to this one)
Blush: Benefit Gold Rush via Adore Beauty $29.00 (Mini).
I bought the Benefit Gold Rush Mini Blush to try and fell instantly in love. It’s the perfect mix of peach, nude and pink with golden shimmer. It is the kind of shade that would suit every skin tone and I will definitely be buying the full size when I run out! (I use a blunt powder brush similar to this one for better colour payoff)
Brows: BH Cosmetics Studio Pro Ultimate Brow Palette N/A & NYX Professional Makeup Control Freak Eyebrow Gel via Priceline $9.95.
The brow palette I use is no longer available however the powders I use look similar to the Brow Duo Blonde to Golden Blonde (darker powder) and Medium Brown (lighter powder). I use the darker shade of powder to fill in where I have the least amount of natural hair (my arches and tails) and then blend the lighter shade through from the front for natural coverage. I then set my hairs with NYX Professional Makeup Control Freak Eyebrow Gel. It can actually make a huge difference to your eyebrow shape and to open up your eyes to use a brow gel, if you don’t already use one I highly recommend! (I use a short angled brush with spool for the powder similar to this one)
Highlighter/Eyeshadow: Revolution Reloaded Lustre Lights Highlighter Palette (warm) via Priceline $10.00
Again this was an impule buy that I’ve ended up loving! I use the last two shades of the Revolution Reloaded Lustre Lights Highlighter Palette daily. I use the gold colour as a highlighter on my cheeckbones, inner eye, brow bone and the mobile lid area and then I use the darker bronze as an eyeshadow in the crease area. It really opens up the eyes especially and takes just a few seconds! (I use a soft short bristled rush similar to this one for eyeshadow and a fan brush similar to this one for highlighter).
Mascara: Maybelline Colossal Volum’ Express Mascara via Priceline $19.95
The Maybelline Colossal Volum’ Express Mascara has been my go to for years now, it gives length AND volume without clumping. I have tried other mascaras that have received hype and ALWAYS go back to this one.
Lips: NYX Professional Makeup Soft Matte Lip Cream via Priceline $12.95
It’s not an exaggerating when I say I have over 20 shades of the NYX Professional Makeup Soft Matte Lip Creams, my daily shade is ATHENS while my favourite nude for events is ZURICH. I find it an extremely long wearing formula that doesn’t dry out the lips like traditional ‘long wear’ lipsticks do. If you’re more of a gloss gal then the NYX Professional Butter Gloss ($9.95) in Creme Brulee is the perfect nude gloss that isn’t too sticky.
And that’s it! That is my daily makeup routine which takes me less than 5 minutes and makes me feel SO much more awake and alive. What is your favourite makeup product?
