Hi Lovelies,

When Adore Beauty recently reached out to work together I *may* have jumped up and down a little! As you know my background is in Beauty Therapy, and Adore Beauty is one of my FAVOURITE beauty sites!

Created for the every day person, Adore Beauty is a FOUNT of knowledge and makes shopping for your next MUST HAVE product quick and easy. Each product has reviews from people who have purchased previously, in depth product information, directions for use and ingredients PLUS they also have a blog section on the website where you can delve deeper into certain products and brands. If that’s not enough for your, there is online assistance/chat for any queries you have and if you’re choosing a foundation you can use their FINDATION by entering other shades/brands you’ve used and they will pinpoint the right shade in that product for you!

I do plan on doing an IGTV on Adore Beauty, The Ordinary and the range however until I get the (child free) time to do so I thought I’d run through the products I chose from Adore Beauty. I should also note that AB have kindly given me a Discount Code: which gives you $15 OFF (see Instagram Highlights or message me for the code) when you purchase $75 or more worth of product (brand exclusions apply, valid until 13 December 2019).

Also, I should note that I know this looks like a lot of products and you personally may not choose to use this many. I wanted to really give The Ordinary a proper review, and the best way to do that is to use it solely. I chose The Ordinary as it has high potency products at an amazingly affordable price point, as many of you are stay at home Mums or may not have a large budget for more expensive products I felt this would be an amazing brand to bring to you!

ABOUT THE ORDINARY: The Ordinary offer high-quality skincare products, with no gimmicks and no marketing ploys. You’ll never see words such as ‘anti-ageing’ when it comes to The Ordinary, they simply show the ingredients they’re using and explain the scientific benefits for the skin. For this reason, creating a routine with The Ordinary can seem daunting at first, but with research you can quickly find out which products would suit your skin type and can soon start feeling the benefits of the highly concentrated ingredients.

The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser | 50mL $13.90

AB/TO SAYS: A hydrating, squalane based gel-to-oil cleanser for all skin types, including sensitive. Gentle, anti-inflammatory, removes stubborn makeup, silicone free, vegan & cruelty free. Rub together to warm the product, allowing it to melt into an oil. Massage well onto dry face and rinse with warm water.

CSVP SAYS: As advertised the Squalane Cleanser is gentle and removes stubborn makeup. It comes out in a cream texture and emulsifies into an oil. I’m a big believer in LOVING the products you use (or else you won’t use them) and my personal preference is a foaming face wash. So while it is a great cleanser, excellent price point and I can see it being amazing for sensitive skins, I won’t personally repurchase.

The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution | 240ml $14.50

AB/TO SAYS: Glycolic Acid is an alpha hydroxyl acid that exfoliates the skin. The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% offers mild exfoliation for improved skin radiance and visible clarity. The formula also improves the appearance of skin texture with continued use.

CSVP SAYS: Glycolic Acid is my spirit animal. You can say I was raised on it LOL! The first salon I ever worked at stocked a Glycolic based brand that literally CHANGED MY LIFE. I have always had an oily, thickened skin with congestion and enlarged pores. Using Glycolic products controlled my oil, refined my pores and reduced my congestion. Glycolic is for EVERYONE (except sensitve and reactive skins that need strengthening and calming), and all these years later I still benefit from using AHAs. Refining my skin texture, reducing enlarged pores, and increasing that lovely juicy plump feeling we start to lose mid 20s. The Ordinary recommend using this once a day (at night) directly after cleansing, and to replace ‘old school’ exfoliation aka manual scrubs with it. I haven’t used a manual scrub since I’ve started using The Ordinary and while my skin is feeling soft and not at all congested, I would mentally love to have a nice big scrub once a week! I will definitely continue to purchase.

The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG | 30ml $12.70

AB/TO SAYS: Independent studies have shown that topical use of each of caffeine and EGCG derived from green tea can help reduce looks of puffiness and of dark circles in the eye contour.

CSVP: It’s only been a week but I have already noticed that my eyes are less puffy and the skin around the eye contour is more refined. I like that it is a light formulation (liquid gel like) and absorbs straight into the skin without affecting makeup application.

The Ordinary Supersize Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 |60ml $23.10

AB/TO SAYS: The Ordinary has developed one of the best Hyaluronic Acid treatments for an instant hydration boost and easy absorption. Suitable for all skin types, including oily skin, due to its easy absorption and weightless texture, Enriched with Vitamin B5 to boost surface hydration and Uses multiple molecular weights of Hyaluronic Acid for multi-depth hydration. Hyaluronic Acid is a molecule that naturally occurs in the body and is known for its incredible water-retention properties. One single molecule can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water. When applied as part of a skincare routine, Hyaluronic Acid provides instant hydration to plump and nourish the skin.

CSVP SAYS: Hyaluronic Acid is an amazing and efficient product for ultimate hydration. This product also comes in a smaller size (30mL $12.90) but I knew I would love this product so I got the larger size. I immediately feel a huge difference in the hydration and plumpness of my skin after using, and my skin overall is definitely a lot less dehydrated after a week of using. I use this in the morning and will definitely repurchase!

The Ordinary Supersize Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% | 60ml $17.80

AB/TO SAYS: Developed to help clear congested complexions and minimise the appearance and severity of blemishes, Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% is a must-have for oily and acne-prone skin. Enriched with vitamins and minerals, can help to transform the texture of uneven skin. The serum also helps other treatments to work more effectively for a clearer and less-congested complexion.

CSVP SAYS: No I don’t have acne-prone skin, but I do wear a lot makeup (and primers) and my skin in prone to congestion PLUS this is apparently a great product for enlarged pores which I do have. It is available in a smaller size (30mL $9.90) however I wanted to see the long term results from this product so opted for the larger size. It’s too early to tell regarding it affecting my enlarged pores, however my skin is more refined and even already. I use this morning and night and will likely repurchase again.

The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane | 30ml $19.80

AB/TO SAYS: A high performance anti-aging serum, The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane targets multiple skin concerns such as pigmentation, wrinkles, and uneven texture. Dermatologists agree that retinoic acid is the most potent form of retinoid available to achieve a younger looking appearance. This face serum features a water-free formula that is less irritating than traditional retinoids, yet with superior benefits. Over time, you will achieve younger, healthier looking skin.

CSVP SAYS: This is a product that will take longer than a week to see results, however the percentage for price point of this highly active and efficient product is too good to refuse! There are less potent percentages available to start with as Retinol can sometimes cause flaking and dehydration as your skin adjusts to the product, I haven’t had any adverse reactions as I have used high potency products for many years now. I use this at night and will definitely continue to purchase for continued results.

The Ordinary Matrixyl 10% + HA | 30ml $19.90

AB/TO SAYS: A potent peptide complex helps to diminish lines and wrinkles, while hyaluronic acid nourishes and gives skin a plumper, more youthful feel. This versatile serum is a must-have in your anti-ageing arsenal.

CSVP SAYS: I found this product by searching The Ordinary products and refining them to anti-aging, a very handy feature of the website! I’m doubling up with the Hyaluronic acid however this serum also has Matrixyl ‘a peptide complex scientifically proven to reduce both static and dynamic wrinkles’ how could I not try it! My skin definitely feels plumped and hydrated after use, but as with all high potency products it will take at least 4-6 weeks to see results. I use this at night instead of the Hyaluronic Acid and will most likely repurchase.

The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA | 100ml $12.90

AB/TO SAYS: This moisturiser uses a blend of hydrating ingredients to help nourish dehydrated and dry skin for both instant and long-term hydration. Contains ingredients that occur naturally in the skin, such as Hyaluronic Acid and Amino Acids in an oil-free formulation.

CSVP SAYS: I’ll admit I was skeptical on how effective this moisturiser would be, however I am really impressed with how hydrating, and long lasting, it is! I use this as my morning moisturiser and it leaves my skin hydrated and dewy. Will purchase again!

The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil | 30ml $18.90

AB/TO SAYS: Rose Hip Seed Oil is a natural saviour for the skin, rich in Omega Fatty Acids and Pro-Vitamin A to help regenerate skin cells and nourish dehydrated and dry skin types. This 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil has been cold-pressed to ensure that the pure and organic oil does not degrade. This way, you get maximum potency and skincare benefits. Helps strengthen and repair photo-ageing skin, Moisturises and rehydrates dry and dehydrated skin and includes Pro-Vitamin A to help minimise signs of premature ageing caused by UV rays such as skin damage, dark spots, and fine lines.

CSVP SAYS: I love a rich night ‘cream’, while you sleep is when your skin does the most regeneration and healing, so I love to give it a lot of nourishment at night! There is also dryness which is separate to dehydration, and that is caused by oil loss not water loss in the skin. So a good oil based product at night will combat dryness. I use the Rose Hip Seed Oil every night and my skin feels supple and soft, I will definitely repurchase.

The Ordinary High-Adherence Silicone Primer | 30mL $8.80

AB/TO SAYS: Ideal to use alone for a naturally perfected finish, or under makeup to improve longevity, The Ordinary High-Adherence Silicone Primer uses advanced adaptive silicones to act as a matte, hydrating, blurring primer for makeup that looks higher in definition and adheres for longer.

CSVP SAYS: This has now replaced my usual primer (that costs four times as much) as it is EXCELLENT. Minimises pores and fine lines and my makeup doesn’t budge throughout the day, as I have an oily T-Zone a lot of primers are found wanting but this is amazing especially for the price. Will purchase again.

The Ordinary Serum Foundation | 30mL $12.70

AB/TO SAYS: The Ordinary Serum Foundations are lightweight medium-coverage formulations available in a comprehensive shade range across 21 shades. These foundations offer moderate coverage that looks natural with a very lightweight serum feel. The pigments used in this format are treated for a rich, highly-saturated effect. These pigments are suspended in our proprietary spreadability system that allows pigments to look natural on the skin, resist collecting within fine lines and stay on for longer. The foundations offer a semi-matte finish and are compatible with most primers and are designed to work exceptionally well with the primers offering from The Ordinary.

CSVP SAYS: About a year ago my go-to BB Cream was discontinued. Since then I shudder to think of all the BB & CC Creams and foundations I have purchased and thrown out or given away because they just weren’t right. Either the coverage was off, they were too fragranced, the colour didn’t match, the coverage wasn’t buildable… the list goes on and on. As these foundations are SO cheap I decided to do the FINDATION that Adore Beauty offers to colour match and OH MY GOD. JACKPOT. Not only is the coverage perfect and buildable (one pump gives a light coverage and good colour consistency for an everyday BB Cream type look, another pump on top gives a natural medium coverage perfect for events and evening), the colour is perfect! I bought a few shades so I can mix and match depending on where I am at in my tan schedule and I can honestly say I am never going back. I will purchase the Coverage Foundation next out of curiosity but I am very happy with the Serum Foundation.
