Hi Lovelies,
Recently we celebrated Bambino’s turning two with a TWO WILD Jungle themed birthday party. It was such a fun morning celebrating with friends and family, and most of the decorations I ordered online in advance and prepped the night before!
One thing that is really important to me, is making sure we capture special moments and celebrations. So often we put to much work and effort into events and are so busy on the day we don’t have the chance to take photos, or the ones we do take obviously don’t have us in! I asked my gorgeous friend Tahlia from Wylde Folk Studio to take photos for us, and I am absolutely in love with what she captured!
I decided that I would let balloons do most of the hard work with decorations, and ordered 110 balloons and balloon tape from ebay (ha ha!) and the night before hubby and I created the balloon garlands for over the cake table and photo wall… all up it only cost us $51! Every birthday I always create a cake table with backdrop and it really sets the theme so well. This year I grabbed an expanding trellis wall from Aldi when they had a garden special buys, and added TWO WILD balloons that I found for $1 each at a local discount store. Kmart had the cutest timber cake topper for $1.50, and my Sister In Law made the most amazing cake and cookies. I wanted the white with green smudge cake, but let Jakki do what she wanted on the inside… and she created the most amazing four layers of animal print mud cakes! They tasted as good as the looked too!
The boys needed to be comfortable and cool (Spring in Brisbane is quite warm, especially when you’re a busy boy running around!) but I wanted them to be in theme, and randomly stumbled across green leaf print shorts at Kmart. Paired with boots from Spendless Shoes and a plain white tee, they looked very dapper! I wore my current favourite playsuit from Princess Polly Boutique, it’s white and a linen blend so fit the Jungle theme, and my comfy Ria Menorca Pablo Wedges in tan. Hubby wore some khaki shorts and white tee that he’s had in his wardrobe for years!
Last year we had an epic grazing table from (Click HERE to see Bambino’s Day At The Polo First Birthday Party) but this year I quickly threw together my own basic platters with cheeses, meats and dips from Aldi. Given the party started at 9.30am (so people with younger kids could get them home in time for naps) I knew that people would graze but didn’t need too much! And of course my trusty tubs from Kmart I grabbed a few years ago came out for the drink station. I ordered some artificial palm fronds from eBay and popped them as a table runner on the cake table and drinks station, just to tie in the theme further.
We are very lucky to have a large backyard, which is why we always host the parties at home, and between the cubby house, sandpit, trampoline, bubbles and inflatable games & animals the kids had a blast running around and playing!
We’re so lucky to have so may gorgeous friends and family to come celebrate our rainbow with us!
And some spam of bambino with his cake, because it’s just so cute!

Hi! Love your theme and would love to know where and what the colours are for the balloons? Hard to come across matte coloured ones as pretty as those x

Oh thank you Hun! It suited (suits) him to a tee! Ha ha! The balloons are from eBay but I can have a look if I still have the link – any particular colour or all of them?
