With Mother’s Day just around the corner cue all the stores suddenly overflowing with pink, floral and heart themed pyjamas, mugs and chocolates. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it’s not for everyone. It’s not for me. Don’t get me wrong, I DO love a cosy gown, I DO love a nice pair of slippers (I’m not a heathen) but I like a funkier, more fabulous option to pale pink and white fluffiness.
So without further ado, I bring you my Non-Mumsy Mother’s Day Gift Guide…
Most Mamas spend a decent amount of time in a gown. It’s comfy, it’s cosy, it protects our clothes from grabby little fingers… but that doesn’t mean they can’t be cute! Of course I have included stripes and leopard (personalised no less, how spesh!) and yes a white one… but it’s hotel themed and we can pretend we’re at a hotel if we close our eyes… and ears… and have a hot cuppa ha ha!
I don’t know about you but I spend a lot of time in my slippers, when I’m at home I don’t like to go barefoot as my feet get sore (we have tiles) plus as it gets colder I need warm tootsies! So here are some gorgeous slippers and boots that will keep Mum’s feet toasty and comfortable.
Instead of the usual “I Love You Mum” mug, why don’t you get one that keeps your loved one’s cup WARM (you know, because it’s hard to have more than a few nice hot sips before kids pull you away and it gets cold) or handy reusable keep-cup to help the environment while still being cute!
Forget the Roses… Mum deserves the best! Don’t settle for anything other than decadent, artisan chocolates made right here in Australia. If you’re going to treat yourself, make it count!
Forget the usual grocery store blooms, show Mum just how much you love her with a beautiful unique posy, everlasting roses or even a bouquet she can eat!
Forget the love heart pedant or fashion earrings this year, get a forever piece your Mum will treasure!
I hope you’ve some inspiration for some non-mumsy Mother’s Day gifts (for yourself or your loved ones)
