I love a themed party, and we wanted a special theme for Bambino’s 1st Birthday. We decided on ‘A Day At The Polo’ because we could frock up, wear some whites, drink some champagne and have a fabulous time celebrating our beautiful Rainbow turning One!

The Set Up
We hired a backdrop, Perspex Donut Wall and Giant Chess set from Honey Tub Event Hire. Trevor & Zubeidah were such a pleasure to deal with and the set up and take down was a breeze for them. The backdrop was such a fantastic addition to the party, everyone could have photos in front with and without the birthday boy as they arrived and then throughout the party if they wished. Unfortunately the weather was a bit wet and the giant chess wasn’t able to be popped outside for the kids to play with freely, but it was set up down one end of the patio and kept the kids entertained!
Oh. My. Goodness. I literally don’t have enough words to describe how amazing Cara from Grazing Goodness is. The detail in the set up (including some cute little ponies and trophies I found at the dollar shop), the quality of the food and the customer service… superior! Every single guest raved (and still is raving) about the food and there were sooooo many leftover (yummy!). Cara catered for everyone, including a kids section full of yummy treats for the little ones. I can’t recommend Cara highly enough!
I ended up ‘hacking’ the Coles Rainbow Cake by buying two and sitting them on top of each other and smoothing the icing. The bunting is from an eBay store and the horse is from the packet of horses I got from the dollar shop. The idea was to cut the cake and it be rainbow to represent our rainbow baby, but Bambino had other ideas…
I bought a whole heap of inflatable hobby horses from a party store for the kids to play with and then take home with them as favours. To be honest the quality wasn’t great and they kept going soft, but the kids didn’t seem to mind and had a great time running around with them!
What is a special occasion without the memories to smile over? A massive thank you to the amazing Benjamin from Benjamin Jai who took our photos on the day, he captured so many beautiful moments for us to treasure and was such a pleasure to work with (again – he also took the TSID Clothing photos in Byron).
A massive thank you to all our friends and family who came and celebrated with us (not all pictured – some don’t like social media 😉 ) We had such a magical day!
