Hello Lovelies,

It’s time for you to start making the most of nap time, and no I don’t mean knocking over those household chores! I’m talking about ensuring you make some MAMA TIME in your life (see my post about Mama Time here)!

The babe is down for his/her nap and you’ve got 45 minutes to 2 hours (depending on how lucky you are), so let’s make the most of it and take some time to recharge your batteries. You can’t pour from an empty cup!

Below are some FREE rejuvenation activates for you to do to have some self care, I challenge you to try each one this week and report back!

1. Bathing Beauty

Don’t keep the bath just for the kids! Do the whole she-bang and close the blinds, light some candles, put on some soothing music (or not soothing if that makes you happier), make yourself a hot cup of tea (or even pour yourself a cheeky wine, just one if you’re the only adult in the house lol) and run yourself a nice bubble bath!

2. You’re Grounded!

No not THAT type of grounded, ground yourself – STAY WITH ME – the new age way. I am so far from a ‘hippy’ type person HOWEVER how good do you feel after a day outside, or a walk in the fresh air, especially at the beach! What is grounding? Grounding, or earthing, refers to connecting electrically with the Earth. A growing body of research is finding numerous health benefits as a result of the physical body being grounded (from groundology.com). Basically go outside, lay on the grass in the sunshine and BREATHE. I promise you’ll feel better!

3. Stretch It Out

Download a Yoga app or stream it on your smart TV via Apple downloads or You Tube, it doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner, have dabbled or a pro – there’s something for everyone. Not only will you feel better physically, yoga is fantastic for your mental health as well. Namaste.

4. Reading For Pleasure

Put away that parenting book, don’t even look at those emails and if you pick up a whitegoods manual you’re going to get into big trouble! When was the last time to read something JUST FOR YOU? Hard copy or e-book, if you love reading then choose a book you’ve been meaning to start NOW. If you’re not a big reader then there’s no shame in a trashy magazine or a crossword puzzle. For bonus points take it outside with a cuppa and get some fresh air as well!

5. NAP!

Yes that’s right, you go ahead and nap as well! Get into your big bed ALL BY YOURSELF (heaven) and take a few deep relaxing breaths and float into blissful oblivion. Lordy knows we miss out on HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of hourse of sleep in these early years so catch up when you can!

What do you do for YOU? Do you take time out regularly for yourself? Will you be trying any of these ideas this week?
