Our New Baby’s Nursery

Hello Lovelies!

Today I’m sharing with you our new baby’s nursery, or how it is right now as I still have a few tweaks and additions to make once Bub arrives.

I love white and grey, monochrome, and I love the simple scandi style – it’s something that I’ve been trying to incorporate more into our home since we repainted (very recently, poor Hubby had the timeline of Bebe’s birthday party to have it all done by and he delivered!).

Bub’s room is the smallest in the house, so we need to keep things minimal and bright so it doesn’t feel closed in. I’ve left the space next to the cot quite free as in time we will need to add some sort of toy storage piece, but for now a little (faux) greenery and little basket is enough.

Kmart is so fantastic at the moment for scandi homewares, and I love the little wooden family and name blocks. Once Bub arrives and we know boy/girl and therefore name I’ll be able to pop his/her name on the blocks (it comes with stickers so you can personalise – how fabulous!).

I love the cot sheets from Adairs and have matching bassinet sheets as well. They’re a gorgeous pale grey marle jersey which is lovely and soft. I also purchased two of the bunny rugs but don’t recommend them, they’re doubled up (two bunny rugs sewn together) which I thought would be fantastic and warm but with just one wash they’re so badly out of shape I don’t know if I can use them! The last thing I found for the nursery was the change pad cover believe it or not, it’s actually incredibly hard to find a grey jersey cover! I found this jersey and towelling cover from Living Textiles and it’s lovely, so glad I finally found one!

And yes I was one of those crazy people at ALDI at 8.00am on a Wednesday when the special buys for the nursery came out. I got the second last chair in the store (even though I was one of the first to arrive) and then realised how HUGE the box was! Somehow I manoeuvred it out into the carpark on top of a trolley with Bebe in tow only to realise it didn’t fit into my car. So there I was 8 months pregnant in the middle of the ALDI carpark, no phone (I’d forgotten it on charge) with a giant chair and Bebe happily munching away on popcorn in the back seat – so comical! Luckily a very kind gentleman who’d also purchased a chair (he had a ute – brilliant man!) for their first baby expected a little before we’re due, sorted me out quick smart. He laid all the seats down and unboxed the chair and tetrised it into the car. I will always be so grateful to him!
